Week 4

This week in our family:

Drew: This week has been full of phone calls. Calling this person and that person about leads that he has gotten about houses or wanting to buy. They say one in every 20 phone calls ends up in a lead that is usable or so. By now I feel he should have 20 or 30 good leads! (not really but some days it feels like that).

Nichole: This week I started my own business....kind of.... Yesterday I created this gorgeous bouquet of cupcakes.

My husband told me that I should start selling them. I took a poll online via a group I am part of facebook and they said that is a good idea too haha. So I am taking orders for bouquets of cupcakes. I can do ones that look like hydrangeas or daisies and others as well I just don't have pictures.

If you read this and would like to order you can just message me or email me at nichole.hanna03@gmail.com. You can also follow me on instagram @hannastyle_sweetsandtreats

I am also doing chocolate covered strawberries.

Anyway...even if nothing comes of that, I am still really proud of myself!

Lehi: This week we worked a little on potty training. I don't think that he really wants to and I am not really pushing it. I did find a timer that after going potty he gets to play a game and that went great for a day and then he didn't really care anymore. My boss said that I need to spend three days always at his side and not doing anything else but potty training but with two other kids to take care of during that time I'm not seeing how that would work for us. Others tell me that I need to just wait until he is ready. I think that is more of what I am going to do. He knows how to go he just has to make the choice to do it on his own. Lehi also got his first assignment in Primary!

Emmagrace: This week has been full of girly things for her. She loves the color pink and having bows in her hair. This was a night where she couldn't go to sleep without that bow in her hair!
We also did nails and some cute hairstyles!

Sophie: This girl has been getting herself into trouble this week. One day I was in the kitchen and I heard her whining a little. She whines when she pulls up and can't figure out how to get back down. So I look over at her and this is what I see.

She had somehow gotten herself stuck on top of the bucket and couldn't get down. Poor girl! Of course I had to take a picture before I got her down but the fact that she did it was pretty amazing!

We also built a fort!

Celebrated my brother's birthday... the big 15!!

And I got a new outfit from one of my friends who sells LuLaRoe! Valentine's leggings! I can't wait to wear them next month!

Week 3

This week has had some ups and downs!

Drew: This week he took his real estate license exam. He has been studying for about 6 months, along with his regular day job to get this license to help him in a new business venture he is working on. They didn't have any testing dates here in Utah until the end of the month and he isn't very patient. He found a testing center in Idaho that would let him take the Utah license exam so he went up there and took it. He said that there were two other guys with him and they didn't pass and when he called one of his real estate friends to say that he passed the friend was very surprised. I guess a lot of people don't pass on their first try. WAY TO GO DREW!! He is now starting to work on his Series 7 license for stock trading.

I love it when dad is home to read stories with the kids. They really love it too!

Nichole: I am still reading the book that I was reading last week and it is getting even better. It amazes me how much I can relate sometimes. Everyone should read it! I also cut about 8 inches off hair off. One night Drew and I were talking and he asked me the question "What do you want?" Now I don't really ask myself that question. I usually ask what do I need or what do the kids need or want. I told him well I need this...and I need that... and he said those were not the right answer...then he asked again.... "What do you WANT?" So I told him things that I really want...a haircut, to get my nails done, and to hire someone to clean the house. The next morning he text me and told me to make a crazy plan and go for it. So I called and made an appointment.

No more mom buns for me! It feels so much better and I even had time to put on a little make up this morning :)

Lehi: This week he learned a new word. The. He can now read it along with the words a and I. I can't believe that he is close to reading a whole sentence! He is so smart, but that is just my opinion 😉

I was a cool mom this week and let the kids paint and play with play-doh. Now they are asking all the time if they can do it, (I'm not that cool)

Emmagrace: This week she learned how to put her pull up and pants on all by herself! It is amazing what kids can do with the right motivation. I told her that she couldn't come down to the office without pants on so she found some pants and put them on all by herself!

I also love doing her hair.

How cute is she?!

Sophie: This little girl is just moving around like a mad woman! She won't stay in one place and loves to eat everything off the floor. She has been extra needy this week, but doesn't want to cuddle much so it makes it hard to comfort her other than pack her around.

She woke up like this one day and I thought it was really cute...my little hood rat!

Week 2

This week was a pretty crazy week!

Drew: Thanks to all of your prayers Drew got the promotion!! It isn't a pay raise yet because he doesn't have the license that is needed but he is able to get over time and monthly bonuses which is great! He is really excited to be able to take the next step forward. This also means that, starting in March, for 3 months he will be training at their Gateway office which is a 2 minute drive from where we live. Not like the 45 minute drive one way he has now. We are both really excited about that one :)

Nichole: I have started a new book:

Image result for real moms making it up as we go

This is probably one of the funniest and most true books on motherhood and parenting that I have read! One of my favorite parts so far is she talks about the tests we put out there to see if we are good parents by the way others react to it. For example, making a post about a "hot topic" and then seeing how others are reacting to it. She says that motherhood is enough and we need reject the test that we are putting on each other, and as she puts it "lower the bar and be awesome!" even if we look less put together and organized. So this is my new motto Lowering the Bar and Being Awesome!!

Lehi: This week Lehi was sick so he only got to go to one day of school but he got to make a snowman! It is crazy the difference just one week of school has done for him. He is wanting to write more and read more with me. I will read and then he will try to say the words after me.

The one day this week he went to school it was pajama day. He got to wear his favorite jammies which are his ninja turtle ones. We also went to the City Creek and played in their play area yesterday and this was a really cute picture I got of him.

Emmagrace: This girl is a wild one who loves to read. I catch her all the time just reading books in corners.

This is the same day Lehi went to school. She wanted to be in her jammies all day too.

Here is another one where I told them to go play and this is what I found them doing when it was too quite! It doesn't last long but at least they like to do it! She is also OBSESSED with Minnie Mouse!!

I didn't realize how much Minnie Mouse things she had until I saw her like this and just had to take a picture.

She wanted me to take her picture because she was a princess! How cute is she :)

Sophie: This girl has taken off in leaps and bounds. She is crawling all over the place and putting everything that she can in her mouth to eat. She is also pulling up on everything. It won't be long until she is able to stand by herself!

She crawled up onto this all by herself while at the Dinosaurs. She isn't old enough to be doing things like this yet right? She can't get down so she just falls but still she can get up there which is amazing!

She also turned 8 months old. Time goes by so fast when you are in the thick of it! I still feel like I am 18 and just about to start college. Not 27 with three kids three and under!

Two weeks down! Only 50 more to go!

Week 1

As a new year has come around I wanted to keep more updated on writing about what our family is up to. Each week I am hoping to write a little about what is going on with each of us.

Drew: This week Drew had a job interview for a promotion in his company! He has only been there four or five months but is doing very well there! Right now he is in data entry for Fidelity Investments but is looking to move into a salesman position. Prayers that he gets this new job! He is also working on getting his real estate license so pray that he can pass that test too!

Nichole: This week has been full of being a mom. Cleaning and more cleaning. I did finish a really good book this week written by Lauren Graham. I love Gilmore Girls and Drew knows this so he got me this book for Christmas. This was an actual surprise! I had mentioned it but only once and he remembered and got it for me!

Lehi: This week Lehi started preschool! He goes twice a week and is loving it! He comes home with "homework" and we get to work on it together while his sister colors. He loves learning and being around others so he enjoys school. He also started big primary and had a great time. I am the primary chorister and it was fun to be in there with him as he was answering questions and singing. I was asking the other kids in primary what their favorite games we played last year were and he started talking about a hiding the flute game. He didn't have any idea what I was talking about but it was cute to see him not afraid to talk. This is him in his new church outfit...how grown up he looks!

Emmagrace: This week was a little bit of an adjustment for her. She is so used to doing everything with her "buba" that she was having a little bit of a hard time just being by herself while he was at school. I think as the weeks progress she will get better at being by herself and playing. She really wants to go to school too so we read and color while it is just the two of us. She looked really cute today so I had to take a picture!

Sophie: This week she is really starting to move! She is crawling everywhere and putting everything in her mouth! The other kiddos sometimes leave crumbs on the floor and she is eating them all up! I guess I need to vacuum more haha. She has one tooth and one that is about to come in. She also has really started talking and will just jabber and jabber all the time. She has also become so wiggly!! I can't hold her for long because she just wants to move!

My grandma celebrated her 76th birthday this week so we all got together to eat and celebrate which is what we do anytime someone has a birthday! We went to Letherby's which is an ice cream shop here in Utah. We had a good time and I was able to really embarrass my grandma by telling the people it was her birthday. I didn't mean to embarrass her but after they sang a little girl at the table next to us yelled to her "Happy Birthday" I think it made it worth it! I even got to see some family I haven't seen for a while.

Well that is this weeks update! Hopefully I can remember to do this each week and keep a record of our family a whole lot better! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
